Chance me :D

Going to be a senior in August
GPA: 4.1 weighted
ACT:29
Junior AP Classes: Psych, English Lang, US History
Senior AP Classes/College Class (Have not taken yet): Calculus, Gov, English Lit, Music Theory, and an first year engineering course by my local university.
Community Service: 100+ hours
Marching Band/ Concert Band for 3 years playing trumpet (continuing on senior year)
Church Youth Group
Winter Drumline for 1 Year

Colleges: MIT, UCLA, Rose Hulman, Carnegie Mellon, (basically a lot of math and science focused schools)

No offense but no chance for any top schools with a 29 you need atleast 31,32+ on ACT.

MIT: Really far reach
UCLA: Reach (You’re OOS.)
Rose-Hulman: Reach
Carnegie Mellon: High Reach

I don’t think these are the schools to look at. Is there anything instate (Indiana? or somewhere else in the Midwest) that you are looking at?

Chance me back?

You do need to adjust your wish list to the reality.

Well I live in Arizona, so California schools would be nice. My choice of Arizona school is the U of A but… they’re not too great. Also, I plan on retaking the ACT to get into the 30s. I felt awful about the ACT the last time I took it so hopefully with some practice I can get it up. Can anyone recommend any good engineering schools that fit my stats?

Bump Bump Bump

none are super realistic. Rose-Hullman is a possibility. Maybe look into some larger state schools? UIUC you’ve got a shot, Purdue, Minnesota?

Minnesota and Illinois look very appealing actually, thanks for the recommendation!

Those are all reaches (Rose-Hullman is a maybe though). Definitely apply to some other schools where you have good chances of getting in, like Purdue
