Where are you from? being an semi international student myself I know the struggle
based on knowing where you come from I can give you an answer. What languages do you speak?
@aik257 i’m from North Africa i speak English and Arabic and French and i understand traditional language but i don’t speak it
You have good chances at both places. I would say in your writing for your applications you should write about your culture and heritage!
If you are a bilingual non-asian foreign student i’d say you’re just about as competitive as anyone, and stanford would be a reach, amherst a high match, and Harvard, yale and princeton would be reaches, while all of the other ivies would be high-low matches.
If your asian you’ll have a harder time, but id still say you have a great shot at amherst and lower ivys.
Good Luck!
I think you should have a pretty good chance at all of the schools mentioned given that you increase your SAT score, even just slightly. Regarding your ECs, I think your fine with the 3 sports you play and your jobs. Your geographical location could give you an advantage over other applicants too.
@ContextisCeE i’m not Asian i’m from North Africa
Apply to some safety schools since the Ivies and Stanford are very unpredictable. Expand your list to around 10 colleges, maybe 3 safety, 4 match, and 3 reaches a.k.a the ivies.
