Accepted to Alabama and South Carolina. Rejected from Notre Dame--do I still have a chance at these schools???

Duke- deny most likely
UNC - best bet, still low chance because you’re out of state
UPenn - Probably deny, high reach depending on your essay
Brown - same as UPenn

The only way you’ll get in to those top schools is through great teacher recs and stellar essays.

UNC is a little iffy since you’re out of state and most of the students admitted come from in-state, but you still have a decent chance. They really like extracurriculars especically ones with community service involved so you’ve got that going for you. I know people who have gotten in to Duke with lower GPA and test scores so you’ve got a pretty good shot with that one. I don’t really know enough about Brown or UPenn to say.
