any advice or chances?

Thank you so much!

I don’t see how you would not get in.

thanks! that’s a relief to hear. I’m worried about my grades though…

my grades sophomore year very much hurt my GPA- I got 3 B+s (although one was in phys ed…), a B- (!), and only 4 As/A-s… How much will that affect my chances? My counselor is explaining my bad grades, that I went through minor depression and that they don’t reflect my academic abilities. my grades freshman and junior year are pretty solid, but will they judge me on that year?

My lowest grade ever was a C+ in the 3rd term of junior year (in physics of all things). I followed it up the next term with an A+ to average out the year at A- level.

I had some fairly major family events that led to my low grade, but I didn’t bother having my counselor write some sob story. **** happens, deal with it; don’t make excuses for yourself.

I don’t plan on writing some sob story; I understand that I messed up that year and now have to live with its consequences in the college admissions shebang. But nonetheless I want to know whether one year can have such a big effect when they clearly aren’t an indication of me academically?

Probably not seeing as they were during sophomore year. Keep up your senior year grades and don’t succumb to early term senioritis.
