GWU Is my absolute dream school and i really need to get in. I'm applying to CCAS with an undecided major.
SATS-630 W, 700CR, 570M, 1900 total (I'm retaking them in October, just to try and get the Math above 600.)
GPA- 3.87W (i'm not sure what it is unweighted)
Rank- I'm not sure. I'm finding out Oct. 1st. but I am assuming top 25 %.
Junior year I took: AP Language (3). SUNY US History. SUPA Forensics (this is a science class associated with Syracuse U) Pre-Calc
Senior Year I'm taking: AP Statistics (I HATE math but I'm trying to show i'm challenging myself). SUNY Race&Class. SUPA Public Affairs. AP Literature.

I took a lot of other classes, but I'm only listing ones that are college level/AP. If you need more info, just ask. :)

EC:
I've had a part-time job since April 2009, I work 22 Hours a week

Treasurer of my Class (I was only elected one year)
Drama Club (2 Years)
Opinions Editor School Newspaper (2 years)
National Honor Society (since i was eligible, my sophomore year)

Volunteer:
I work at the food pantry

I do various work at the local synagogue
I work at ECAD(east coast assistance dogs) and will be working there once a week most likely

Other:
I'm a jewish girl from NY, which doesnt help much. I'm family friends with someone on the board of GW, so I'm getting a recommendation.

Just post any questions/suggestions/comments.

GPA; good.
SAT: CR good, M bad, W could be better.
EC’s: good.

i think the AP stat next year is suicide. Ur clearly incapable (570 Math) and getting a terrible grade both in the class and on the AP would be worse than simply taking a normal class. Just stick w/ the Ap’s your good at. At school the stat AP was the test everyone did the worst on. like only 30% got a 4/5.

if your in a private jewish school the dual curriculum will help.
And the writing could be higher. Writing is the most coachable section of the sat (i improved a 570 to a 680 in like 2 months)- if you could polish up your sat to be 600M, 700 CR, and 650W, than your in for sure.

Work on your GPA and test scores. Get some ACT/SAT review books and study at least a few times a week.

You don’t have many AP classes, but the few college classes are a start. Take some more college classes if possible, but only if you can make an A.

You’d better write one hell of a college essay.

Don’t get a board member you hardly know personally to recommend you. That just makes you look like a tool. What’s more, most admissions people have no idea who’s on the board and who isn’t - unless it’s the chairmen of the board. And, I doubt you’re BFF with him. Find teachers who can see the potential in you, know you very well, and who believe in you individually to write your recommendations.
