All the classes I did bad in were science related: Honors Chem and AP Bio. I don't plan to major in science.

safeties:
UCSC, UCM (merced has plans with their students to have them transfer to other UCs, which is an incentive to many who go there), SLO

Matches:
Davis, Irvine, Santa Barbara

Reaches:
UCLA, Cal, UCSD (i think you have a great shot at UCSD, but if you intend to major in music, i dont think UCSD is not for you. sorry, but its mainly a science school, focused on bio, biochem, and engineering. plus, its the most socially dead of the UCs, everyone just stays in their dorms on weekends. i attend UCLA, which has lots of activities compared to sd.......)

Ah, I wouldn't mind being a music major at all at UCSD.

UCSD actually has an excellent music program (sis is a double major in economics/music there at Warren college). Their music programs are not as acclaimed as their science programs, but nevertheless, they do have a very good music program.

Anyone else?

Argh, bumpagain.

match @ ucd, uci, and ucsb

slight reach @ ucsd

reach @ ucb and ucla

Are you applying as a music major? I can't say much for grades in that respect, but for Berkeley and UCLA in general GPA is really low...

Reach - top two UC's

I actually applied undeclared for most colleges :( I wonder if I can email admissions officers to change it to a music major...?

Actually there's a stat that says 97% of UCLA students and 99% of Berkeley students graduated in the top 10% of their high school classes. That being said, I don't know anyone who HAS been admitted any worse than top 10% (it seems like the minimum cutoff), but there's always room for exceptions? :)

BigD and Dk-blueFalcon's chances are right on.

Yeah, I didn't think I'd make it into UCLA or Cal anyway. I'm really hoping for UCSD, I thought it would be a huge reach for me, but I'm glad you guys think I have a chance at it.

Your stats are similar to those of my friends who got into SD, so you should be fine =)

Even my GPA? :/ I'm pretty sure it's bringing down a lot of my chances.

Anyone else? Will my GPA bring down my chances at UCI/UCD/UCSB or even Calpoly?

ur probably in for calpoly. good chance at irvine, sb..... i dont think itll ruin ur chances completely for davis. but ucsb has a thing, i have NO idea why. they rejected majority of my friends (similar stats to yours) but they ended up at UCSD, davis, and irvine........... college admissions is a crazy procedure, ill never understand it......

you are in at calpoly...
might be rejected at mid-tier uc

Would you consider UCSD a mid-tier UC? Or higher up?

sorta like this

TOP: UCLA, Cal
NEXT: ucsd, Davis
NEXT: sb, irvine
NEXT: sc, riverside
OUT OF THE PICTURE: merced (but merced has this program with the other UCs, where theyll give merced students priority decisions, not necessarily guaranteed decisions, in transferring. this gives students an incentive to attend merced)
