Sophomore: 1 AP 2 Honors
Junior: 2 APs 1 Honors

-Volunteer at animal shelter

I applied to:
UCSB
UCSC
UCD
UCI
UCSD (I know this is a stretch haha)

Cal Poly SLO
SDSU- I already got accepted :)

I also applied to some back ups and got into them.

anyone? I will chance back

Most likely to get in: UCI, UCSC
Likely to get in: UCSB, UCD
Possible acceptance: UCSD

For calpoly SLO, what’s your intended major?

My major was Biomedical Engineering (alternate Biology)

Thanks for replying :)

Anyone else???

I would say 70 percent or higher chance at all other uc’s and cal poly; 30 percent chance at ucsd. good luck!

thanks! good luck to you too (if you are applying this year as well)

Are you in ELC?
You should be fine for all those colleges except for UCSD- which might not be too terrible. SAT II scores? I would say, depending on ELC, SAT II scores, and the full detail of your application, 50% for UCSD if you have okay SAT II and you aren’t part of ELC. If you are, 65% or more. (I might be overly optimistic.) In fact, you have fairly decent odds if you have more than what you described in your post (which you probably do. btw, I don’t think UCSD considers major in admissions- or so I heard from a friend who is going there right now.)

Would you chance me?
I’ve got a 3.85 (I think) unweighted GPA, 4.15 Weighted (I think)- based on my own calculations
I’ve got a 2000 flat SAT score, 720 on US History, and 660 on Math (Terribly low) and a 660 on Physics (I took it without finishing the class) <— that might really hurt me
I am the current Vice Commander for my school’s JROTC unit, as well as a frequent volunteer for the local museum. I also participated in the school’s journalism/news paper class, and competed in last year’s science fair, where I went to the Synopsis county championships and won one minor award from the society of professional engineers for an innovative project as well as some honorable mention certificates for my technical paper. I am also the recipient of several JROTC medals for academic excellence and leadership. I am a CSF member for life (pending this semester, but really? come on… how can you not be…lol) and an NHS member.
I also played tennis for the last four years.

I applied to Carnegie Mellon (a snowball’s chance in hell, but whatever), UCLA, Cal, UCSD, UCD (ELC acceptance), UT Austin, and Texas A&M.
My scores aren’t great, and my GPA isn’t anything special compared to anyone at my school (I’m in the top 4% though). Last night, my friend told me she got a supplement request from UCLA, and she had much better GPA than I do. This kinda scared me, so if you guys would be so kind, please give me a realistic assessment of my chances at all these schools. (I’m a CA resident btw, so it would probably hurt my chances at UT and A&M. Thanks and sorry for long post

No im not in ELC (my school is difficult and very large) and my subject tests kinda suck because I was too lazy to study :frowning: They both are high 600s, I forget the actual scores. (math II and english) But im expecting to get rejected to UCSD and probably others too like Cal Poly, UCD and UCSB. I have a few other ECs but nothing too big :/

I think you have a good shot at UCSD. I dont know about the others outside of CA, but I think Cal and UCLA are a reach. But you have good ECs so those will help. SAT subject scores don’t count as much as they used to so don’t worry.

Good luck, I am sure you will get into atleast a couple of those schools :)

That sucks bro. ELC pretty much guarantees your admission at Davis. But looking at your GPA, they would probably take you either way (although I hear this year is looking more competitive because there’s a major influx of applicants). GL though! Thanks for the chance!
