Chance me for Berkeley please!!!!!!!!!

UC GPA: 3.96 (a bit low, I know)
SAT: 2110
SAT 2s: 800 on Math 2, 720 on Chemistry, and 720 on US History
Will have completed 10 APs by the end of HS

ECs: tae kwon do, boy scouts, science olympiad, track and field, and a few others...good
Leadership: Eagle Scout, and some other stuff...fairly strong
Awards: Nat'l Merit Commended, Siilver Star award, black belt in tae kwon do...strong
Community Service: Nearly 300 hours...PLENTY
Essays: strong...speak about me pretty well

--As far as Math and Science go, since I am applying to Engineering--:
I am one of 10 out of nearly 700 people in my class to take calculus as a sophomore, and have earned A's and 5's in calculus as well.
Have taken pretty much every science class school has to offer.
Pretty good at chem...A's in chem across the board, 4 on the AP Test, and a 720 on SAT 2

First Generation College Student...what are my chances? I am applying as a Materials Engineering major.

…and fyi, i’m from San Diego, CA…NOT Columbus, OH

bump please

whats ur class rank?

our school doesnt rank, but im pretty sure top 10%

I would say reach. The GPA/test scores seem just a bit low, but the ECs are quite strong. You seem like a qualified student. It’s just reach because it’s Engineering and it’s Berkeley :P

you are still within the range of accepted applicants. more like in the lower 70-100% range of the admitted students. There is still a chance. But you will have to fight for it.

I would say engineering is pretty hard to get in at Berkeley.
and definitely work on your GPA and SAT as much as you can - because UCB really ranks their applicants with these.
But your ECs may give you a fighting chance.
