Chance me for Boston University and Northeastern

Hi, I am a female senior at a public high school in Pennsylvania.

I have a 3.87 unweighted GPA and a 4.28 weight (most likely going to have a 4.5 with all of my AP’s senior year.) I have scored a 30 on my ACT but I am tutored 4 hours a week to improve my score to a 32

I have taken all honors classes all four whole years of high school. I have taken four AP tests (Euro, US, Lang and Comp, and Psych) scoring all fours and fives. I am taking 5 AP’s senior year (English Lit, US Gov, French Language, Stat, Physics I) and I might take a Macro independent study, so ten tests in total.

I have been an ordained deacon at my local presbyterian church since freshman year, very active in organizing youth ministry, and also attending 3 mission trips (rural housing ministry in Maine and a trip to Costa Rica.) I also participate in club fencing.

I have been involved in my school’s humanitarian club since freshman year (grade representative, vice president, president) organizing food drives, a summer food program, and a Mini THON. I also am a member of the Academic team (since sophomore year.) I am also senior editor of the yearbook and have been a staff member since sophomore year. I also am a member of our local chapter of NHS organizing our winter blood drive for Red Cross.

Would I have any chance at some merit scholarships?

Thank you so much!

I would say you’re definitely qualified for both schools, especially if your test scores increase. However, I know that BU doesn’t offer many merit scholarships, and because those types of scholarships are generally dependent on standardized scores, I wouldn’t count on very large scholarships, although I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of getting any scholarships.
