Chance me for Boston University!

demographics: south asian female from massachusetts, i go to a large public school, first gen (i think), applying regular decision as a first-year applicant

intended major: i think i’ll apply for either poli sci, neuroscience or human physiology (wondering which one of these is the least competitive)

uw gpa: 3.78 (my school doesn’t weight gpas or do rankings)

coursework: ap us history, ap biology, ap world history, ap english language and composition, ap calculus bc, ap statistics, ap comparative government and politics, ap us government and politics, and two dual enrollment english classes at my local cc

no awards lol

extracurriculars: two programs that help low-income minority students get into college (i’m a mentor for the middle school students at one of them, not sure if that counts as leadership); a year-round cancer research internship in a biological engineering lab at a prestigious university last year; and worked three summer jobs under one program in 2017, 2018, and 2020

essays/lors: my personal statement is pretty strong and i think my lors will be good. still working on my bu supplements but those should be alright.

thanks in advance!

You have a really strong application. Any ACT/SAT scores?

no unfortunately. thank god they’re test optional. also, i have one C on my transcript from ap bio but i have mostly A’s and a few B’s. does this ruin my chances?

any thoughts?
