Your stats look pretty good. However, just write a great essay and then I would say you’re good to go. Just make sure you have taken the honors classes in your High School… that’s what those top schools like to see.

I think your GPA is a little below average for Brown and your ACT (maybe you should have taken SAT along with some SAT IIs)…but I think that your colorful history and travels might impress the Admin staff at all of your other schools (most of which are matches). The liberal arts schools like people with stories to tell especially NYU. Cornell is known to be the easiest Ivy to get into. You could probably write a fantastic essay about your travels and work experience abroad to compensate for the GPA and ACT score and have somewhat of a chance. And Carnegie Mellon…lets just say you are probably among the most interesting of applicants there.

Honestly, I doubt, based on your GPA and scores alone, that you could get into Cornell, Brown or BC; not to be harsh, but I wouldn’t even bother applying. Also, UVA will be really hard for you to get into because they are so biased against OOS and International applicants. I’m not trying to be mean, just honest; I’m very familiar with these colleges. That being said, I’m sure you’ll get into NYU: they love international students, and your scores and GPA are certainly high enough. U.Roch is pretty much a done deal for you too. If you raised your scores/GPA just a little bit Vassar, Wellesley, and Brandeis could become matches. Hope I could help!

Everything on your list is a reach except for BU and maybe McGill. It’s cool if you apply to all them but make sure you have matches and safeties.

you should be very good for most schools, except as ^ said, they want to see progression, junior yr counts ther most, then soph, then fresh. unfortunatly for u, its not the other way around
