Hi, I am an international student. I applied to Bucknell University RD. There are my stats:
SAT 1
Highest one sitting score: 2140: V750, M770, W620
Highest combined score: 2230: V750, M770, W710

SAT 2
Math Level 2: 800, Chemistry: 800, American History: 770

AP
Calculus BC: 5, Chemistry: 5, Macroeconomics: 5, Physics C Mechanics: 5
I am taking 3 more AP test this year

TOFEL: 110

My activities are fine. I have great recommendations. My essays are fine. A couple people read them and said they really like them.

I applied for financial aid(quite a lot). I know that will hurt my admission chances but I really need that money.

Could you guys chance me please? I also applied to Lafayette.

I got waitlisted and then admitted to Bucknell a few years ago, but got no financial aid so I couldn’t attend. If you haven’t visited their campus, is there any way that you can get there (if you’re from Canada)? They like to see campus visits because it shows strong interest. Your scores are good, so they’ll probably give you serious consideration.

Have you contacted anyone in the department you’ll major in, such as physics, math, etc? If you’re an athlete, could you email the coach of your sport to see if they’re interested in you? Having support from someone at Bucknell might make all the difference. If you get in but the money isn’t good enough, I hope you end up at another school you’ll like.

My parents couldn’t afford to pay for Bucknell for me, but they offered to pay for my grad school and buy me a car if I attended a cheaper place. I took them up on their offer and will apply to grad schools this fall (I’m a junior at the University of Arkansas.) I hope you can get the money you need to go to Bucknell, but if you don’t I hope you are happy wherever you end up. Good luck!!

Thanks for your advice! I am thinking about majoring in engineering and I will try to contact professors from the engineering department.
