Without scores and a firm handle on gpa, there is nothing to be said. You have a lot of ecs, try to develop leadership in one or more. If you plan on highlighting public speaking you would need an activity like forensics or debate.

Hi, as someone who as a very avid public speaker, I have some advice for you to work on that if that is your passion. Considering you’re still a sophomore, you have a lot of time.

Firdt, a bit on my public speaking journey.
I have Tourette Syndrome and have been bullied many times by friends, family, doctors, teachers, coaches and many others. It’s been a hard fight against social stigma around disabilities, and a fight against ignorance. Many aren’t educated on Ts, and that leads to misdiagnoses, bullying, teasing, and discrimination.

Sophomore year I joined a program as part of the Tourette Association of America. After being trained about public speaking, I was fortunate enough to schedule meetings with Senator Feinstein, Boxer, and representative Speier.(California). I advocated for more money to educate doctors and teachers on Tourette syndrome, to better support individuals with TS.

That med to present to many public schools in my area on Ts, as well as speak in many panels in my own school. All aimed at educating the public, to reduce stigma around mental health, disabilities, and Tourette Syndrome.

I then got invited to a local TEDxTalk where i continued to speak about my passion, and continued to spread awareness on Ts. Of course some media picked up on my efforts. And I’ve had an easier time in securing speaking outings.

Obviously I could keep going on, but for the sake of time, I’ll get straight to the point.

It’s great that you love speaking, but you have to develop that passion even more. Find something you want to talk about. find something that is going to be on your mind all the time. Something that you would sacrifice parties, and social time, in order to do. Something that will get you out of the bed early in the morning, and keep you up all night planning for your next speech. THAT, is what it means to develop an extra curricular activity. And, that passion. Is whatever you want it to be. It’s great that you’ve discovered and done so much(waaayyyy more than I did by sophomore year), now focus on one. Expand on it. Don’t stay within your school. Use your talents and passions to improve your community, improve those around you, and work for a common issue.

Good luck on everything you do.

Good day

If you read a little more carefully, I state I am president and founder of one club and president of another club.

You have a lot of random clubs and interests right now. Try to hone in on what you truly care about and dig deeper.

You seem like a great person and you are taking the right course load. Make sure you start taking AP courses as soon and as many as possible.

My daughter is applying to many of the schools you list as targets, so what we have realized in this journey is that the top schools want well rounded classes, but not well rounded students. They seem to want students who are excellent in something. As a sophmore, you have plenty of time to figure that out. Maybe with your club and magnet school, it would be elder care - just a thought. You need to decide on your own.

Just take off any preconceived limits you have on what you can do. Best of luck!

I’m the president of two of the clubs I’m in, received an award for one of my clubs and then the dance a thon I cannot be a member in until senior year.

Thank you sir, I hope my club takes off and shows my excellence of being a leader, changing my community, and helping others . Thank you
