Okay, thanks, will try my best to get a great score and side by side continue with my ECs…thanks for all the help.
@atuckertransfer Do the colleges ranked 15-40 provide sufficient financial aid?
Obviously, I’ll research a lot this summer, but would be nice to know a thing or two from the beginning.
Probably not to internationals. Your GPA is too low for merit and financial aid is not given usually outside the 8 need blind uni’s.
Okay, thanks. Still, will try to work as hard as possible and get into a good university which will give me the required financial aid, thank you sooo much.
Try the net price calculator (http://netpricecalculator.collegeboard.org) and worst comes to worse go to a school with a good scholarship and transfer eventually
You really need two lists. The one is the 7 reaches that you have listed. These are the schools that almost everyone all over the world want to get into. The schools that turn away some students with 2400 SATs. Without top grades, top test scores and stellar, international ECs, you are setting yourself up for disappointment at these 7. Apply anyway, because there is always a chance, no matter how small.
The other list would be 7 schools with great physics departments where you actually have a realistic chance at acceptance and serious merit money. These are not always well-known names overseas, but you would receive a fantastic education there (and perhaps the chance to do grad work at an Ivy afterwards). When you have this list compiled, come back to Chance Me.
Okay, suppose if I were to ask you what would be my safe colleges if I wanna get into the possible, what would you say? Where might I get enough financial aid/scholarship and would also be a good college?
Thanks.
There are great schools where you can apply. I don’t know aything about financial aid though.
UI urbana champaign
Maryland College park
UT Austin
U Mich ann arbor
U Wash Seattle
All these schools have great physics programs.
