I can’t chance you but I will encourage you to reconsider your essay topic. In addition to mental health issues being what many believe is an overused topic, there are unintended interpretations when you credit working harder to your mental illness. Safeties look to be pretty safe. Most of the “Reaches and Targets” are reaches. I think you might look at some schools between your lists - Purdue, Maryland, Wisconsin.

Does that mean to ditch places like Stanford or to apply to both Stanford and Maryland? Thanks for the info.
