chance me for CORNELL AEM early decesion... don't laugh at my horrible stats

Went to elementary school to teach students basics of Spanish
Help orchestrate the mural in the school for club

Positions: 1 of five freshmen selected freshmen year. (had to go through an interview and stuff). Conducted workshops in health classes in high school and middle school over the years. Go to meetings regularly, and help in programs that try to raise unity in school</p>

Positions: 1 of two representatives from my school selected (like 30 kids applied)
Conduct presentations at Board of ed meetings in front of superintendent and board of education members about the concerns of our school.</p>

Honarable mention for Pace university’s Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest
Received an end of the year of a year award from the business apartment

<p>Recommendations: 1st from Criminal Justice teacher, FBLA Adivisor (knows me well)
2nd from AP World History Teacher (9th and tenth grade)
Coiunselor Reccomendation should be pretty good as well</p>

<p>Essays: Common APP is very creative and should be good... i use indian food and american food as metapors to explain my diversity </p>

<p>You need top grades and ECs to even be considered for AEM. Someone was rejected ED last year with stellar grades, rigorous senior year, and terrific business ECs. No idea how that happened but yeah…now maybe if you interned for JP Morgan, UBS LA, Goldman sachs or something than you’d have a better chance.</p>

<p>A better idea would be to apply to any other school in Cornell and then transfer to AEM which i heard is extremely easy to do.</p>

<p>not saying that it wouldn’t help if you did - but it’s not important. i didn’t do any of that and i actually got accepted in late feb/early march when i applied two years ago. </p>

<p>if you have a legitimate passion for AEM, and if AEM is the only major (or one of) that can help you achieve your dreams, then your application will reflect it and show that you “fit”. honestly, chances threads never really work. adcoms are a crapshoot a lot of the times. just try your best and if you get in, you get in.</p>
