Essays:
Common App: Spoke about how I was initially unable to communicate with other people in debate and had a big ego about knowing everything, as well as how losing destroyed the superiority complex in me. Also talked about how I regained confidence in my own speaking abilities and became humble. Proud of this essay and think it represents me well 8.5/10

Rec Letters:
Teacher 1(Social Studies): Really liked me last year. A friend of mine was told at the interview that they were seriously impressed by what he had to say about him, and I know that he liked both of us a lot. 9/10
Teacher 2(Math): Should be a solid letter of rec. I was told to describe myself to him and give him material to write for the letter, and I think I did a pretty good job of that. 7/10
Outside Letter 1: Professor at a community college and private tutor. Didn’t read it but this should stand out a bit. 9/10
Outside Letter 2: Campaign manager for my political internship. Got to read over this and it really highlighted my leadership skills. 10/10
So far, I received two acceptances to Texas A&M and Purdue. I feel like my application is solid besides my GPA because I took nearly every honor course available and more challenging courses, so I’d like to know what chances I’d have for other colleges. Thanks!

Cornell: low reach
USC: match
UT Austin: safety
UIUC: safety
UW: safety
UCs: safety
UCLA: match
UC Berkely: match
Michigan: match

I think you’ll get in all these schools IF you’re school truly as recognized because your GPA is low. My question would be: does your school have a history of sending grads to USC or Cornell?

@nicolas23 Thank you for the evaluation! No idea if schools like UIUC and Austin are safeties but we’ll see.

UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Weighted capped and Fully weighted. What GPA is considered high (top 10%) at your HS if it is that competitive?

@Gumbymom 3.92 UC GPA

I think my fully weighted GPA is around 4.13 throughout high school although our school doesn’t do it.
As for GPAs that are considered high, there are still many people with 3.7-3.9 GPAs and a few have 4.0s but that isn’t the majority of people. I don’t specifically know what the top 10% is.

Your GPA may be an issue so it will depend upon how admissions will evaluate it against others from your school. You look like a competitive applicant but UCLA and UCB are tough admits even for the most qualified applicant. I do not think you can call them Match schools but you do have a decent chance and Good Luck.
