Subjective side

My mom died and this affected me in high school. I began to slack a bit and was lazy. I know this is no excuse but that is one of he reason I think I was dragged down a bit.

I also moved from India halfway during sophomore year. This shift was one of the reasons my GPA is kinda low because the move made me miss a lot of school and I was supposed to go in to school, testing with material I’ve never seen before. So I took 10 AP tests in one year at my school and I had to cram all my standardized tests in a few months.

Ethnicity : Indian (from the bay. Welp)
Intended major : CS, stats, econ or applied math. (One of them)

Thanks for your time,
I’ll chance you back fosho

UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

I see no safeties.

UC GPA is like 4.1. safeties are the lower UCS like SC, uci and UC Davis.

UCI/UCD would not be safeties even with your excellent test scores especially for CS. Probably a Low Match to Match. UCSC would be a safety. UC’s can be difficult to predict so error on the side of caution when it comes to applying for competitive majors.

You definitely look like a strong contender at all of the schools you mentioned! Your ECs are great and I would be surprised if you didn’t get into any.
However, Gumbymom is right- you need safeties.

I think your ECs look pretty fantastic and are definitely centralized around your intended major(s). However, I would have to say your UW GPA is a tad bit low for most of the schools you listed above, but I would not worry about that too much since your test scores and ECs are outstanding. I say you are definitely a competitive applicant for all these schools, but I can’t promise that you’ll get in. Also, I agree with everyone else that you definitely need some safeties in your college list. I have heard too many horror stories about students not getting into a single colleges after applying to just 5 top colleges, and I would not want you to join one of them. Of course, with stats like yours, such a thing is very unlikely to happen, but I would not bet on it. Overall, I would say you have a decent chance at most of these schools, but make sure to apply to some safeties like the CSUs. Good luck!
