I think the admission standards will remain the same, if you were good enough to get in before, you will still be good enough to get in despite the 26% increase.</p>

<p>I think you have a great shot! Just rock the interview (which I hear isn’t even that important, it’s supposedly more informative rather than evaluative) and most likely you’ll be a Blue Devil come December 15th!</p>

<p>I agree with swimswamswum in that a lot of ED applicants applied to Duke as a longshot. You have a solid shot at Duke, ED or not. I would say its a high match/match (depending on the strength of the other ED applicants). Good luck! </p>

<p>I’m calling it a high match because you applied ED. I think that is the best anyone could hope for at a top tier school like Duke.</p>

<p>I actually am writing this as I do my Gov/Pol homework, but I don’t think I’ve ever wanted someone to get into Duke more, and I have a lot of friends who applied to Duke.</p>

<p>Your stats are great (but it’s Duke so I didn’t expect anything less), your extracurriculars are solid, and your recs sound amazing. Of course, I haven’t read your essay but that is the only place I can think of that could be a weak spot.</p>

<p>Other than that, your research is exactly what Duke wants and I am extremely impressed with how hard you have worked. Of course, Duke has a very low acceptance rate and it still must reject 3 out of every 4 applicants, most of whom are qualified.</p>

<p>However, I would like to go ahead with this and say that…</p>

<p>In case anyone is wondering, I got deferred. Although only 5-10% of the deferred get accepted, I am remaining optimistic.</p>
