First of all, thanks for any help in advance! So I applied early decision for Duke, and I’m hoping that will improve my chances. I’m mostly looking for my chances of being accepted ED for Duke, but I decided to ask Johns Hopkins and Stanford for one important reason - I recently was awarded a 4 year ROTC scholarship and my top 3 options that I listed were Duke, Johns Hopkins and Stanford (in that order). So if I’m not accepted to Duke I will have to rely on getting into one of those.

Teacher of the Month Election Committee (yes this isn’t a “spectacular” EC, but I included it because it is personally one of the most enjoyable activities and I really love being able to honor the teachers for everything they have done for students such as myself. The teachers here have such big hearts, and it’s incredible how much they do for their kids.)
Sears Part-time sales associate over the summer (I say part-time but I ended up 40+ hours a week)
My school isn’t competitive, and neither my parents nor I were ever aware of what I should’ve been doing in high school such as founding clubs, Siemen’s (?), creating a volunteer project, etc. I’m not trying to excuse what may seem as “weak” or generic activities, I’m simply admitting that I know these are reach schools for me, and had I known more about programs available I definitely would’ve applied myself more. Thanks!
