Legacy, my dad went there and graduated in 1980. He also used to recruit for Fordham Law School.

Anything else?

Being a legacy will help, but ED2 is way more competitive than ED1. I understand that it was designed so that the Ivy ED1 hopefuls that didn’t get in can be guarenteed spots after their denials.

Your grades are very low for Colgate–they are on an upward trend–your test scores are also in the bottom. If financial aid isn’t an issue you will have a better shot. Colgate seems to give their aid packages to athletes and they also allow for the lower grades and test scores for those that can contribute to their athletic program.

I do not know how much the legacy factor matters, but without it I would predict an absolute no for ED 2.

Good Luck!

My son applied and was accepted to Colgate ED 2 after being rejected from Dartmouth. His stats were higher but not a legacy
