Hey, if you could just chance me real quick for Emory, I'd really appreciate that. Thanks in advance!

Real quick here are some shortshortSHORT stats
gpa: 3.66 (seems low but my school is a very prestigious, college prep school. also, we don't rank)
act: 32

basic ec's: volunteer humane society, president of youth group, volunteer at hospital, work as a sacker at grocery store, worked as waitress, played club soccer for about 7 years, drama club at my school, attended Vanderbilt Summer Academy for Talented Youth at Vanderbilt University for 4 years (college classes taught by grad professors)

ummmm, yes so if you could chance me that'd be great

Also, I know they care a lot about demonstrated interest - I'm visiting in November, also had other contacts with admissions, think that should help

I think you have a good chance! =)

my son is applying too

you are in the ballpark, but as I am sure you know, everyone applying will have very similar stats.

you might want to take the ACT again, and try to get it up to a 32 or a 33.

my son raised his score from a 31 to a 34, with zero studying, so mere familiarity with the exam may help.

I got a 32 the first time…so…but I am retaking it in september, hoping for 34. Thanks though
Anyone else?

I think your biggest hook is that you have a good academic record (from what I can tell) and work history. This work/school balance isn’t something everyone has. Overall, you seem well-rounded.

Your ACT score is on track for Emory. If you can get higher, then kudos.

I’m also looking into Emory. Academically, I think we’re in the same ballpark. So I would say our chances are similar. Good luck!

Thanks, leftbrain! That’s good to hear. I’m very interested in Emory and was somewhat stressed about admission. :)
