Thanks Gator.
Those are the stats for enrolled freshmen, not for admitted freshmen - so 70% of the admitted applicant pool does not appear in these stats. It may not matter or it may explain why it seemed basically all kids who lived near UNF got in - they may not choose to attend so their stats aren’t computed.

I would think the difference between enrolled and admitted is about the same for both schools.

About 1/2 of the applicants applying to UNF are not being accepted. Be careful with the fallacy of “everyone I know”…you’re likely to know a sub-set of students who have decent grades and attend one of the better high schools.

For example:

“I don’t know how the elections where so close, everyone I knew voted for Obama”

“I don’t know how Obama won, everyone I knew voted for Romney”

If I had a dollar for every time I heard one of the two above statements… :)

Gator88:you’re right, but I’m talking about a fairly large sample due to my occupation Then again, (obviously) I don’t live in Florida. I was talking about 2.5-3.4 range students, roughly, with 1300-1500 scores, for UNF. (yes, students in the 1.5-2.4 tended to not get in, at both places actually.) Also the totally subjective impression among the group that UNF wasn’t “as good”/cool as UWF mostly because the overwhelming vibe was Pensacola> Jacksonville. So, all subjective indeed. In addition, students who apply to UNF may also be self-selected (have a specific reason to apply there vs. another florida public, This may explain the slight difference in selectivity, too, vs. actual stats. Kinda like Grinnell, which is moderately selective (high% of admitted students) but they all have killer stats (not comparable to UNF UWF etc)
Anyway, for patriotsfan, UWF is a match and UNF more or less also, but a high match. Take heart, patriotsfan, FAU and FIU are possible, and Gulf Coast is probably a safety to match for you. You may want to look into Flagler for a nice reach.

Thanks a lot guys for your inputs its been really helpful. And yea I know my grades aren’t the best but like I said earlier it was a 3.1 at the beginning of the year and my school pretty much screwed my entire record up. Once again though thanks alot for your input guys

lol I have one last question guys I just got my gpa adjusted and the report says that I have a uw 2.54 and w 3.38 did that help my chances or not.

Yeppers, it helps. FSU, FGCU, FAU, New College, and UWF will all use the GPA off your transcripts (they no longer re-calculate GPA).

so those universities you listed base their admissions off the weighted GPA

hey quick question first off I know im bringing back an old post, sorry about that. But if anybody can tell me about my chances of getting admitted into odu, radford, vcu that would be great. Thank you

Correct GPA is mentioned on the second page

You may want to start a new thread, with ODU, Radford and VCU in the title…

good idea thanks man
