<p>Hello everyone,
This is my first post. I am a junior, and was wondering if anyone could chance me for Georgetown and Brown Universities. Are there any other universities that have very strong history and international relations departments or programs that i should be looking at? Thanks!</p>

<p>Attend a very competitive private High School that sends kids to prestigious universities every year (last year, we had 1 Harvard acceptance, 2 Stanford Acceptances, and 5 Yale acceptances)</p>
<p>GPA: 3.95 Unweighted (should be around 4.5 weighted i believe).</p>
<p>No class ranking at my school.</p>
<p>SAT I: 770-W 740-CR 560-M (First time taking the test...will take again to boost math)</p>
<p>SAT II: 770-US History (Will be taking English Literature, Biology E, French tests too)</p>

<p>Extra-Curricular Activities:</p>
<p>Two-year Varsity runner on my school's Cross Country Team since Sophomore year</p>
<p>I was a reporter during Freshman year, and Copy Editor during Sophomore year, on the my school's newspaper. I was awarded my own online column during my Junior Year on which I write about Political History.</p>
<p>I am the founder and editor-in-chief of "MUSE: The Journal of International History" at my school which is designed as a place to showcase exemplary student writing in the field of History and Political Science.</p>
<p>I have been an active member of the Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) club at my school, attending Fall and Spring Conventions since Sophomore year and participating in JSA-sponsored debates at school.</p>
<p>Student Intern at the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Pacific Northwest Regional Office since Freshman year. Duties include maintaining member-relations, updating regional databases, and preparing for the regional and national conferences. </p>
<p>Volunteer Curator at my town's local Airplane Museum helping to maintain and restore historic aircraft since freshman year, approximately four hours per week. Duties have included rebuilding the engine of a WWII P-51 Mustang, restoring the cockpit of a Soviet-era MIG-15 jet aircraft, and maintaining a Cold-War era American bomber, an S-3 Viking. </p>
<p>Designed and am in the process of conducting the an oral history project in conjunction with my school's alumni office. This project is designed to record the stories of my school's alumnae in a written and electronic archive in commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of my school.</p>
<p>Designed and conducted an oral history project to record the stories of Holocaust survivors in my community. I recorded and self-published these stories in a 190-page book entitled, "Days like Night: a collection of stories that for the sake of humanity must never be forgotten." </p>
<p>Wrote and self-published a 150-page historical novel discussing the evolution of American power throughout the 20th century under the influence of the Monroe Doctrine entitled, Globalizing Hegemony: "Samuel Winsletts Terrible Life and the Modernization of American Power."</p>
<p>Awards and Recognitions:</p>
<p>As the winner of a highly-selective essay contest, I was nominated to attend the 2008 Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama with other selected students from my High School during my Freshman year.</p>
<p>I was honored as the Most Inspirational Runner on my schools Varsity Cross-Country Team during Sophomore Year.</p>
<p>I was awarded my school's Math Department Faculty Recognition award for expressing an enduring work ethic and enthusiasm for pursuing challenges in mathematics during Sophomore Year.</p>

<p>Thank you everyone very much. I am hoping, of course, to bring my math SAT I grade up before i apply next year; could i even stand a chance to get in with a low math score? My GPA seems to balance it, and i have gotten straight A's in all my math classes so far.</p>
