College GPA: 3.71(65 credit, receiving my aa degree in may) member of PTK
HS: 2.6
SAT: 1280/2400
ECs: volunteer at a cultural center for three years...
essays were decent.

College GPA is good (but McDonough is hard to get into since it’s in DC and the business school students have access to great opportunities. What EC’s did you have while in colllege?
Hopefully they won’t look at HS stats or you might be in trouble.
Good Luck(:

Wow. This is chance thread, right? I honestly think you stand no chance. Your SAT scores are under the national average, you have a less than decent gpa, and it seems like you don’t have much going for you in terms of ECs or hooks. Good luck.

@etg2013, it would be helpful if you could tell me why I have absolutely no chance at the school…As a junior transfer, I do not think my sat and hs records are as vital as if I was a hs student…

You are being asked for them, correct? You are right in the fact that they aren’t as heavily weighed as if you were in HS, BUT nevertheless, they are asked for which means that they do play a role. Scores like that are not as negligible as a 1700 or maybe a 1600 and may actually work against you greatly seeing as the number of accepted transfer. students is low and the number of prospective transfer students with better stats than you coming from better colleges is high. I’m just trying to be straightforward here.

Also let it be known that the nat’l avg SAT score is 1500. Yours is…well, below average. 220 points below.

??? I believe if you are a transfer student from another college they will hold more weight (80%) of your application on how you preformed in college not on what you did in high school. no lie your high school stats are not that attractive but GU will take notice that once you got into college you stepped up your game and worked hard. i think that is the most valuable part of your application. Your SAT scores and HS GPA wont matter as much

i was trying to emphasis the fact that more weight is put on your academics at college then what you did in high school…needless to say you or I are an admission counselor so both of us are in no position to judge jay327. So what you said earlier about him not having a chance…you should check yourself and stop acting like an insufferable know it all…unless you have an admission job it is not your place to tell people their limitations… :p

@beautifulchick95, My college advisors told me the samething what you said here, which was the reason why I actually applied…

@etg2013, I don’t mind you pointing out the fact that my sat score is SUPER low. But since the fact that they accepted my application, there is a chance right?

Well, we going to find out in a couple of months…

Don’t give up hope I got into McDonough without much service and with sub par scores. Still, try to emphasize other areas such as experience etc. rather than sat and GPa from hs since these are low for gtown
