Chance me for Georgia Tech?

State: I live in GA.

Planned Major: Chemical Engineering

GPA:(Divided up between semester 1 and 2)

Unweighted Freshman(slacked off a bit some B's): 3.8 3.7
Weighted: 4 3.8

Unweighted Sophomore: 3.8 4
Weighted Sophomore: 4.2 4.4

Unweighted Junior: 4 4
Weighted Junior: 4.8 4.8

Average GPA (Unweighted/Weighted): 3.9/4.33

Classes: I take the most difficult classes available to me at my school. This includes AP chem in Sophomore year and AP English Lit and AP Bio in Junior Year. The only class that I took the was not the highest level was Honors Euro when I could have taken AP.

Test Scores: SAT: Math: 800 CR: 730 Writing: 720 = 2250
SAT Subject test Chem : 800
SAT Subject Test Math II: 720
AP Chem: 5
AP Euro: 5
AP Bio: 5
AP Lit: 5

German C1 Language test: Passed with highest average in class. This certifies that I am basically a native speaker and could study at a German university.

Awards: Awarded the Goizueta award for Modern and Classical Languages for excellence in Chinese. This is an award given at my school for the best student in each language.

EC:On the Robotics team for 5 years which is extremely good, almost always wins the Regional and wins one of the major awards. However I do not have a leadership role in this team because it is a rather large team.

I went to German School each Saturday for 3 hours for the past 2 years.

I am a leader of the Chinese culture club since it was started last year.

I am on the starting team of the Science Bowl since last year.

Class Rank: N/A since school does not rank. It is a very top private school and feels that this would disadvantage middle of the road students who are also very smart. Hazard a guess for top 5%.

Essay: Haven't started my essays yet but I will work to make them above average.

Rec: Getting a rec from my AP Chem teacher who writes chemistry articles in large science journals. She also knows me well since she is the Mentor for the science bowl team.

Getting another Rec from my AP English teacher, also English department head.

Work Experience: Interning at a GA tech research facility for 40 hrs a week for 8 weeks. Unpaid. (Does this improve my chances at GA tech?)

Volunteer Work: Have done 6 hours so far at Project Open Hand and plan to do more, hopefully 25hours in total.

Plans for Senior year: Taking AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC, AP US and AP English Lang. So I guess I have my work cut out for me. I may volunteer a bit more or become a assistant teacher at the German School. Of course shooting for the best scores possible. Will also continue all my other EC.

So that is pretty much it. So... what are my chances? I hope GT will make a good safety.

You will get in. Low match

Seems promising. If you end up with a 4+ on the AP’s you’re taking this year in addition to the 5’s you already have, it’ll put you with 20+ transfer AP credits to Tech, so that should work out very well for you. (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission))

uhhhhh hell yeah you will

If you are looking just for support you got it. I think you will be sucked right in by gatech.

You’ll be perfectly fine. I have 80-90% confidence that you’ll get in, unless you butcher your essays. Also. I don’t think gt takes teacher recs.
