Harvard has REA, meaning you cannot apply anywhere else early.

all the schools are reach for you, are you international, given the list of lottery schools you’ve applied to?

work on studying for those ACTs man! Your time is much better spent trying to get them up than it is here asking us. As you probably know, a 29 will almost put you out of the running at all of these colleges. Come back when you have a tangible score, not a theoretical score.

@anxiousenior1 You can apply to Harvard early action and any other public university. ASU barrett is public.

@MayiqueCynthia I’m not international, I live in Arizona.

@ Coldsummer123 I’m retaking it in April, but I just wanted to see with the other info I have available

I stand corrected. I just saw two colleges under early. My apologies.

I mean it’s really hard to chance for Harvard, buuuuut , if you convey your passion for singing/music as well as biochemistry (maybe try to get some more STEM-oriented ec’s like doing some research, or participating in USABO, etc) AND raise the ACT to at the very least, a 32, you can maximize your chances.

gormar099, “Passion” does nothing actually. convey accomplishments in what you pursue. Presumably “passion” underlies the commitment to spend the time, energy to accomplish things that are notable. But all the passion in the world won’t get you a slot at Harvard. I know it is the sound bite or platitude that is often repeated but it is not true that passion is appreciated by admissions. Nope but accomplishments/achievements are.

you’re right @lostaccount , what i meant was, convey your passion through your previous accomplishments. So when I said he should pick up EC’s pertaining to biochem, I meant he’ll need accomplishments to show that he truly does care about biochem. Thanks for clarifying this, I wouldn’t want OP or anyone else to get the notion that just by saying you have a passion for something, it’ll carry you into your dream school.

I can definitely see you getting into these schools (provided you get a solid ACT score) as you are a Pacific Islander which is a major boost in the admissions process.
