Chance me for Huntsman ED/college @ Penn ED?

I am very interested and inclined to attending UPenn next year (I'm going to begin my senior year in a few weeks). I am very interested in the Huntsman program at UPenn, but I understand its selectivity level is very high and many people who might have had a shot at being one of those 40 some odd freshman students will not get in. For this reason, I have selected the college @ UPenn as my second choice (for ED) in my application.

These are my stats so far:
3.82 (U) GPA
2200 on my 1st SAT (700 CR, 740 M, 760 W) but I plan to take this again

SAT IIs: (not my best, but hopefully when I take the Math II and Spanish subject tests this year, I'll score much higher)
700 Bio
700 Chem
650 US (probably not a good score for international programs, right?)
690 Math I (this was not a typical result, I'm not sure what happened that day and I hope my Math II score can mask this)

APs:
US: 4
Chem: 4
Lit: 3
Euro: 3
(for my senior year, I'm taking 6 more AP courses, and even though I will take my tests after admissions/rejections, I hope my course selection helps my application)

1 Varsity Sport

Taken most challenging courses in HS, so I'm sure my transcript (minus the GPA) won't be a problem at all

Essay is about a profound trip I took to Africa and this one lady I met with a terrible story (which impacted me a lot)

Member of a total of about 12 clubs throughout HS, executive positions in 5 of those

Ex-Vice President of Class

Published photographer and writer

Have had 3 Part-time jobs throughout HS

NHS, Foreign Language Honors Society

Best Language Student Award

If there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask me on here! I'd be happy to answer it.

U dont have a Maths II…and ur Maths I is too low?
High chance of rejection. (3s on APs…)

Are you an URM/legacy/hook?

To be frank, if you aren’t, Huntsman will probably be nigh impossible for you to get in. Even getting into CAS would probably be a reach of sorts for you.

As of now, your SAT subject tests are in need of work. So retake them, not your SAT (which is a good score btw). Additionally, you will prbly wanna take a language SAT subject test for huntsman.

Now your chances if you were going to submit today…

I say you have a decent shot at the CAS. I mean your subject test scores will hurt you if you are unhooked, but I’d say you have a good chance especially if you apply ED. Now, at huntsman, you prbly will not be competitive…sorry =/

It’s fine, I completely understand. Yes, I am planning to take the Math II and Spanish subject tests this year. Thanks for your input!!

oh, and I do not have a hook (at least I don’t think).

I hate to say it, but it’s not so great. I believe Math II is a must for Penn, especially for a dual. In the standards of Huntsman international, and even just Wharton, 2200 is only acceptable, and the SAT IIs and APs are not so great. However, I still encourage to you apply there, especially ED if Penn is your dream school. It definitely is mine, and I know I will be applying ED to Wharton (and maybe M&T, i’m still deciding if it’s too much). Best of luck to you!

Thanks!! Yea, I plan to take Math II and Spanish this year and rush my scores. I know my SAT II’s and AP’s aren’t great. I’ve been seeing 750+'s and 5’s everywhere I look on this site. But if I were to … let’s say … score an 800 on both Math II and Spanish, would it increase my chances or am I still pretty much a gone case?

Although my SAT II scores and AP Scores are low, would expressing a very strong interest in international studies and leadership in my supplement change anything?

Well sure it will help you. However, unless you can become a URM or something, your SAT II’s will make acceptance into huntsman unlikely.

OK, thanks for your input. If I retake my Math I and score above a 750 (which I am very confident I will, take my Math II + Spanish and score above 750’s on both, would you think I had a decent shot at CAS ED?
