Chance me for HYSPM and look into this dilemma

<p>Harvard is my dream school but...I dont know whether I should apply there early action (since it is such a risk). The two options that I was considering were:</p>

<ol>
<li>MIT + UVA (Early action)</li>
<li>Harvard</li>
</ol>

<p>I dont want to forgo the early round of admissions by taking too large a risk. Which option do you believe is better for me?</p>

• SAT I (breakdown): 2250 (700 CR, 800 M, 750 W)
• SAT II: Math II (800), Chemistry (760), US History (740)
• Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0
• Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 1/~550
• AP/ College Classes: AP World History, AP Comp. Science, AP Chemistry, AP Physcology, AP Calc BC, AP English Lang., AP US History, AP English Lit., AP Government, AP Comp. Government, AP Biology, AP Physics B, AP Physics C, Matrix Algebra, Multivariable Calculus.—15 total
• Senior Year Course Load: Everything after AP US History
• Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Intel ISEF x2 (4th place grand prize), National Science Olympiad Bronze Medalist (Protein Modeling), State Science Olympiad Gold Medalist x8, US Congressional Award Silver Medal, National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar with Distinction</p>

<p>Subjective:
• Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Model United Nations (Secretary, VP, President and Secretary General), Science Olympiad (Captain-2 yrs), Varsity Math Team (top scorer in school on county and state contests), RMHC Teen Council (Founding Board Member), Varsity Tennis (Captain), and Medical Research (Filed Patent and supported by national pharmaceutical association). All activities since freshman year.
• Job/Work Experience: NIH Biomedical Internship at National Cancer Institute (9 wks)
• Volunteer/Community service: 200 hrs of volunteering/ job shadowing at local hospital—Got US Congressional Silver Medal for those hrs + 300 hrs of other community service)
• Summer Activities: Duke University TIP- Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Ethics, HOBY, LeadAmerica, Accepted to Governor’s School (Medicine)
• Teacher Recommendation: should both be good—one from my AP Chem. teacher and Science Olympiad sponsor and the other from my Calc BC teacher and Model UN sponsor.
• Counselor Rec: Got to know him well…should also be good.</p>

• Region (if domestic applicant): Mid-Atlantic
• School Type: Large public school (2500+ kids)—but among the top public schools in country
• Ethnicity: East Indian
• Gender: Male
• Income Bracket: 150K-200K
• Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Immigrant, 1st generation in college in USA.</p>

<p>MIT, Cal Tech and Chicago have EA (no restriction).
I think you will be a competitive applicant.</p>
