Dartmouth - reach
Brown - reach
Princeton - high reach
UMass Honors College (safety) - in
Middlebury - in
Williams - low reach
Bowdoin - in
Colgate - low reach

“ECs look okay, but not much leadership, from what I skimmed.”

I haven’t really included everything, so i will below.

In Boy Scouts I have been:
-Assistant patrol leader
-Patrol leader
-Assistant senior patrol leader
-I also led everyone in order to complete my Eagle Project (this is kind of pushing it)
In my school’s NHS (which has several hundred members) I am the vice-president
I will very likely the captain of the LifeSmarts team next year

I have no idea what happened to my CR the second time, I must have just been in a real reading funk. Every college info session I’ve gone to says they only look at the top scores, so I’m not too worried. Regardless, I’m retaking the SAT I in October so hopefully I can improve my Math score without dropping further in CR.

hmm similar taste in colleges. I would say that your GPA and EC’s defintely put you in the conversation at all these schools. you standardized test scores are great but not stellar for schools like dartmouth princeton etc. yet you could put yourself over the top with recommendations and goood essays

I think that right now the only schools that would be characterized as reaches for you are the 3 ivies, with Dartmouth being your beset shot in my opinion, and williams as a lower reach. The rest of the schools seem to be matches with umass as a safety.

I think that also would help because most ivies have higher acceptance rates early than rd. I mean Dartmouth still will be a mid-ish reach as it really is for everyone, but your grades and ECs make you a competitive applicant and the ED would only increase.

Oh, also I sent the College Plans Reporting Service thingy to both Princeton and Dartmouth…I don’t think either tracks interest and neither offer Merit scholarships so it probably did absolutely nothing, but w/e

Yea, my friend I think that if you work hard you’ve got most places of your list!!Improve a bit your SAT’s and you are great boy! However, keep in mind that Princeton is a very competitive school and unexpected… So apart from it you’ve got good chances!!

evilspartan92, how much did you score on your AMCs (10 and 12) if you don’t mind me asking? Depending on the score, it can be advised whether to or not to mention the tests in your application. Also, what do you plan to major in?

Alone, I don’t know the exact numbers, all I know is they were not that impressive, and I most likely will NOT include the AMCs on my resume since I didn’t actually go anywhere with it.

I am undecided as to what I plan on majoring in, but I think I am leading towards pre-med stuff: biology, biological engineering, biochem…stuff like that

like the last person said, you never know these days. this one kid i know got into harvard, but not washu. and this girl from my school this year got into harvard and yale and not duke. as long as you distinguish yourself by using your ecs to your benefit, i think youll be fine because you have good test scoress. good luck!

since when is a 3.92 average or a 2220 SAT average?
Id say princeton is the only one that you dont have a chance at, eagle scout is very impressive, but it might not qualify as a hook. LACs, I say yes, Dartmouth slight reach,w Brown = yes.
