Chance me for Ivies? Particularly Columbia/UChicago/Princeton

Hi! Here is a summary of my stats and such:

*I attend one of the top 5 high schools in the country according to US News and other sites
*My school does not do class rank
Course Rigor: Highly rigorous
ACT: 35
APs: My school ONLY offers APs from Junior year onwards and limits students to three APs per year, though only one junior is taking 3 APs. I am taking AP Chem and AP Stat and self-studied for AP Environmental Science and AP Psych.
SATII: Chem: 710, Math 1: 740, *studying for English and another one

-Internship at local newspaper and internship at hospital for kids with special needs
    -Professional reporter for weekly newspaper
-Founded a magazine in school of which I am Editor-in-Chief
-Junior editor of school newspaper and political magazine (the highest positions that can be reached for my years)
-Design editor of another school publication
-Model UN awards at both local/national conferences–I’ll admit, more local than national
-Co-president of Lincoln Douglas debate club
-Volunteer for a local congressman (might try and flip this into an internship)
Summer programs: prestigious journalism camp, only accepts 40 kids. internship at local paper aforementioned, summer course offered at school which will allow me to take an extra AP, MAYBE a research opportunity.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for your time.

I’m not sure what to say without a GPA but your ECs and ACT scores sound great. Is there a reason why Northwestern isn’t on your list? They have a super journalism program.

UChicago is not an Ivy.

Good point… I actually hope to do the journalism program that they have there next summer (if I get in, that is). Thanks!

Top-tier schools.

Number of each (A, B, C, D, F) kind of grade in academic (English, math, science, history, social studies, foreign language, art/music) courses?

You need to sort out 1/2/3 on your short list so you can apply ED or SCEA. ED will give the bigger boost.

Columbia, UChicago and Princeton are all reaches in the RD round. All three of those have RD admit rates under 5%.

Northwestern is also an academic powerhouse, with a J school second to none (and a bunch of other top-shelf majors). Their RD rate is also under 10%, but their ED rate is (I believe) still in the high-20s%. The other three have ED/SCEA rates in the teens.

I think we can give more detailed/accurate chancing if you include a list of your courses and the respective grades. Also, are you an international student? How come your school doesn’t have GPA?

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are great. Write good essays and you could get accepted to any of these schools

Very likely, depends on your essay as well.

Hey Man,
I’m a high school student and i’m just wondering, how were you able to make your website so successful?
