Chance for:

Barnard (ED)
UPenn-Biological Basis of Behavior
Cornell-Human Ecology
Tufts
Brown
NYU
Northwestern
UMich

Thanks so much. Also, school suggestions would be great.

I’d have confidence in getting into UMich, NYU, and Tufts. Barnard is a target, and with ED, I’d say you’ve got a better shot than most. Cornell, Penn, and Northwestern are crapshoots, but you may well get into one of them, because your resume doesn’t really have any flaws. If I was a betting man, I’d say Cornell, but who knows. Brown’s a reach, but that goes without saying, almost.

Thanks, I know that.

Oh I’m a legacy at Barnard (double), UPenn, and Tufts. I’ve went to Barnard Pre College Program, if any of that helps.

I think you have a pretty good chance at UMich and NYU, and Barnard if you apply ED. You should definitely apply to the others too, but you never really know with them.

btw, how do you have legacy at three different schools? doesn’t legacy only count at the universities each of your parents did their undergrad in?

Usually it does, but both my parents went to Columbia for graduate school, and we called Barnard, and they said they will treat that as a legacy (my parents are pretty involved in the CU alumni association, and we’ve met high ranking Barnard admissions officers at functions, etc).

Oh, also my dad’s friends donated a building to Penn haha.

The Ivies are reaches:

Brown said no to ~78% of those with an 800 SAT writing, ~79% of Valedictorians, 84% of Salutatorians, etc.

maybe you’ll get in, which’d be be great

seems a good plan to go ED to Barnard; ED tends to increase chances

good luck!!

ivies love personality. youve got the grades, just now show your great uniqueness - ie your passion for language. write an amazing essay. also make sure to note the medical issues. barnard for sure

thanks…anyone else, and suggestions for safeties would be great. I really like big state schools with good sports, that are also academically good!

Off the top, UCLA, USC, Univ. of Texas, Univ. of Washington, Berkeley, and UNC Chapel Hill are all massive schools with good/great spectator sports and above average academics at the least.

I really want to stay within the Northeast though.

bumpingggg

your EC are really good, and so is your SAT. You have a good chance the only thing is your GPA might be a little low.

I know. Grr…its due to medical problems soph year, which sucks for me. Junior year is a 3.96 UW though.

I’d suggest RD Barnard unless it’s truly your first choice.

Its my dream school-I’d pick it over any other school in the country, even Harvard or Yale.

Why? Do I have a worse chance ED?

Hannah
My daughter also had a 2290. She got in RD. You are fine!!!

Ok, I hope so! Its just so insanely competitive, nobody has that great of a chance.

you should be pretty good, but the ivies are so unpredictable that it’s hard to predict. I think you’ll get into NYU and Michigan pretty easily though.
