School Type: Public

Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): none

Strengths: I.. dunno if I'm taking a lot of AP's? Am I? My grades have steadily improved year after year though. I'm heavily involved with school leadership/music/kendo though.
Weaknesses: total shit Grade 10 grades

**I know a lot rides on the SAT's. I honestly do not know how I'm going to take this test, like I get soooo nervous whenever I even take a practice test, it's not even funny.
My essay will be based on my kendo sensei, who was a cancer survivor. During his hospitalization, I found out how much I really wanted to be a doctor. I was a C kid in grade 8, and I constantly slacked off. After I saw him though, I was really inspired by his will to live and his want to continue kendo. After that I learnt how important time was, and I should achieve my dream when I have the chance. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. It's really all sincere and from the heart though so I'm going to have a lot of trouble writing that in 650 words.

Other noteworthy things:
-I will hopefully attend Discover Johns Hopkins summer program if I'm legible.
-Johns Hopkins comes to my city on the 15th and I am SO RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
-My grades will rise. the 92% average will hopefully rise to a 95% and by grade 12 hopefully 98%
-I have seriously accomplished everything I've set my mind on to. So all these 'hopefully' 's I've written, please just treat them as if they already have.

Tips? Suggestions? Chance me?
Thanks everyone!

Denial most likely if you don’t submit any standardized test scores. Admissions has no idea of your skill level. Top 10% is where you need to be at. I’m applying to Hopkins if you want to take a look at my thread. Also I’d get some more developed ECs in leadership roles. Sat 2s arent required but they do help and are recommended.

Why didn;t you take any standardized tests?

You should have done that during junior year! Also, can you pay 60k+?

Oh no! Of course I’ll take the SAT’s I’ll start taking them this year (gives me a full year to take SAT’s until Early Admissions next November). I just wanted to do well on my first sitting and I didn’t feel prepared at all last year.
