In addition, I just received a letter from National Merit Scholarship informing me I would be either commended or advanced to semifinalist status. I don't believe I will make semifinalist as my score was only 2130 but I'm fairly sure I will make National Hispanic Scholar.

And would it be worth it to apply early decision?

Your stats are undeniably strong, but this is Johns Hopkins we’re talking about. Since your SAT is a little low (not bad, don’t get me wrong, but a little low) and you don’t have as many APs as many others who will be applying, but you DO have a 4.0 and impressive extracurriculars, I would say your best chance would be to apply ED. The acceptance rate jumps from 19% to 43% for ED applicants, and if you’re sure it’s your first choice, I’d go for it! Their financial aid is generally pretty good, so you don’t even have that much to fear from being committed.
Good luck!

Thank you for the feedback! I knew my SAT scores weren’t that strong but I can’t bring myself to sit for another four hours haha After my campus visit this weekend I’ll definitely consider whether to apply ED or not. Thanks again!
One question though: How much do they look at volunteer service? I have a lot from school related events such as food drives and open houses but none from outside of school.

Not a problem! I totally understand, haha, I dreaded taking mine a second time, but I think for you it might be worth it! You’re obviously smart, and I can tell you from personal experience that the second time is almost always an improvement (my score increased 140 points, and all my section scores were higher!). A slightly better SAT score would make you much more competitive, especially in the ED applicant pool.
I can’t tell you if volunteer service holds any particular weight, but my guess would be that it doesn’t. The only thing, from what I can tell, that holds signifigance ABOVE other ECs is research. However, that is not to say that your volunteer work doesn’t matter. The fact that you’re a concerned citizen says something about your character, and if it’s important to you I would suggest maybe playing it up in you essays? Also, it’s impressive that you stuck with it for 3+ years-- when I toured, they made it very clear that they don’t care HOW MANY ECs you do or WHAT you do, they want to see that you can commit yourself to something and be passionate about it. ;)
