Hey everyone, I’m going to be applying to MCS. How do you think my chances are?

GPA: 4.40/3.81
17 APs by end of HS
9 AP tests so far: 5s on Calc BC, AB, Lang, Psych; 4s on Bio, Chem, APUSH, world; 3 on Phys 2
ACT: 35C (36E/33M/36R/33S/34W)
SAT: 1560 (770R/W, 790M)
SAT II: 770 Math 2, 720 Chem
National AP Scholar, National Merit Semifinalist
Applying for either bio or chem; not sure yet because my interest lies in biochemistry…anyone have any input on this?
I’ve interned in a computational bio lab. Additionally, since CMU is one of very few schools that’s extremely strong in both arts and sciences, I’m trying to emphasize my love of music in my essay.
How do you guys think my chances are?

I think your chances are pretty good. My son had very similar stats and was accepted to (& now attends) MCS. Yes, I believe that stressing both your science and non-science interests is important for CMU.
