Chance me for merit aid at Brandeis?

I recently visited Brandeis and I absolutely loved it. I’m planning on studying poli sci (or something along those lines, not 100% sure yet), so I especially love the social justice themes of the school. However, during my information session, the admissions person mentioned that merit aid is only offered to the top 3% of applicants? I’m not sure if they have an exact cutoff like that, but I was wondering if anyone here is currently receiving merit aid from Brandeis and could give me an idea of the criteria necessary? And chance me for both getting in and getting that aid? Thank you so much!
Currently a senior, white female, from New York.

It feels really obnoxious to be posting all this, but ugh, I really loved Brandeis and I want to know if I have any chance of getting merit aid from them.
Thank you so much for reading this monster of a post!

My guess is that you will get Merit aid, if you apply regular decision. I’m not sure about Early Decision. The average merit awards seem to be about 15-17K.

My son had similar stats and was named a Justice Brandeis Scholar and received $17,500 per year.

You’ll probably get merit aid. I got accepted as a Martin Luther King Jr. scholar, which covers the full cost of attendance, and I got accepted to the leader scholar community for public health. The MLK scholarship does no have a separate app, but the LSC program selects people during the app process, and gives you the option to apply. I decided not to attended Brandeis, but it is an excellent university and I have friends who say they love it. I attend Boston University which is a couple miles away.
