SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. Please chance me for MIT, Stanford, Cornell, Princeton & Harvard. I'll be applying for fin. aid as well.

What do you think?

bump**********

bump

BUMP*

Someone please REPLY!!

bump*

Chin, you realize these schools’ acceptance #s have gone real low. You have great stats and there is a chance of course you may get into one or more, but realize there are tons of valedictorians and students w/ perfect scores that do not get accepted. Best bet is Cornell, then MIT. Have you applied to CMU, RPI, CWRU, Rice, and/or Harvey Mudd, or even Cal Tech? I would not rest my laurals on any of the 4 you mentioned. But you’ll get into a very good to great program if you diversified your applications and have enough out there.

I need the aid. CMU, Caltech, have no aid for internationals.
I am applying to duke & boston though.

You do realize that we nationals have almost no clue of what most of that stuff is, right?

You look very accomplished though.

sorry guys… that stuff is mostly competitive tests (MCQ+ Subjective) on Science or Math. They kinda give you a rank and a percentile (relates you to others in the country with regard to ‘ability’).
Let’s just say they are ‘valued’ if not respected. (Obviously, Government conducted National Physics & Math Olympiads are the best, but I haven’t received the results of those tests yet.)

Please chance me on the SAT scores, High School Scores and general profile (coz. the universities will probably see only one-tenth of all this stuff anyway)

Cheers

hey…i think you have exceptional credentials but what do you have that’s personal? colleges also like a little bit of personal flair but otherwise IMO you stand a good chance

You are definitely qualified, but remember with those colleges (especially the Ivies) it’s all a crapshoot. It’s arbitrary. Someone less qualified than you could get in while you don’t.

With that said, you certainly CAN get in, that’s for sure. Just don’t completely rely on those schools because like I said, some people just get unlucky.

Well, my music is really personal. I mean REALLY personal. I am submitting the music supplement to MIT (tomorrow in fact). I kinda missed the Stanford deadline for fine arts submissions, but MIT is still open.

I also have a really good mathematics research project (combines calculus, utility theory & game theory in a contemporary political scenario). Its ‘prize-winning’ (regional) so I hope it has an impact.

Was it published?

Are you sending an abstract to colleges?

Wasn’t published, but I am sending it.
