I’d say definitely try to improve that GPA, that’s going to drag you down the most. The SAT is not bad but it wouldn’t hurt to try to improve that score. EC’s are good and show you are committed. So yea, its like reach/match for you but it’ll come down to your essays. Be honest but not honest to the point you’re just spewing random crap.

I got into NYU Stern this year and am attending albeit my stats were significantly higher (4.33 GPA 2310 SAT 12 APs) but Stern is also much harder to get into than other NYU schools. Again for essays, they matter a great deal and one of the toughest ones to write is why NYU? I talked about how I loved urban life and it was the perfect match for me which is one of the biggest factors when going to NYU due to the lack of a campus.

Just like nejworld said: Your test scores and EC’s are good. GPA is the only thing that would bring you down. Your essays really need to be indicative of your passion and why NYU matches you.

As other said, your GPA is going to be the major problem. The mid 50% GPA is 3.59-3.91. Unfortunately, GPA is harder to improve than test score within 1 year. Try your best to bring up your GPA and test scores as well. You can’t have a below average GPA and a mediocre test score if you really want to try this school.

Thanks, and honestly there’s no more raising my GPA, I somewhat believe I am in good standing for nyu gallatin, hopefully! Lol any other helpful tips?

Also, I have some friends who are majoring in film studies there, and it I think it seemed to me that they put a lot of emphasis on some non-academic things (I think like interviews/ videos) but that might be because of their major-not really sure. Best of luck!
