Chance me for Penn State and VCU? Recommendations of other colleges?

Can you guys chance me for Penn State - Main Campus and VCU?

Reading - 450
Math - 530
Writing - 450
Composite - 1430
I know they're really low. It was the first time I took in and I'm taking it two more times. Any tips on improving other than taking classes?

ACT: Score still pending. I think I have to wait another couple of weeks. Hopefully this is a better score.

I'm not sure what it is unweighted.

-I have a pin and a letter for Guitar Ensemble. I'm getting my second pin next year to wear at graduation.
-I'm getting a service learning cord to wear at graduation.
-I'm also getting a civic seal for having 50+ hours of volunteering

These are all just from the top of my head. I have a couple more clubs I can't think of right now.

Classes for next year, my senior year:

I know my SAT score is really low. It actually upsets me to a point where I don't think I'll ever get in college. Can you guys please chance me and recommend me colleges? I'm not sure what I want to major in, but I want it to be science-related.

Thanks in advance!

Bump, please answer!

VCU- As of right now, with your current scores, I think you’re a match for VCU. Your GPA is pretty strong, and your SAT isn’t too low for VCU. Your SAT might hurt you a little, but if you can bring up your scores, I think you’re in for sure.

Penn State- I’m not too sure about this one. Your SAT is probably too low, but if you bring it up I think you have a decent chance. Your GPA is great for Penn State and I think if you could bring up your SAT to 1800+ you’re probably in.

If you can raise your SAT score to 1700+ you’ll have a lot more options. Don’t worry too much though, most colleges care a lot more about GPA than SAT and there are plenty of schools that don’t even require SAT/ACT scores.

Thank you!
I just received my ACT score and it’s 23. Not the best, but it’s equivalent to a 1640+ on the SAT, which is better than ny SAT score.
I am retaking both this fall, though.

Your SAT is what really hurts you. I have a bunch of friends in other schools who are in the IB program, and it’s very highly regarded, so remember that your transcript is counting for you!

That being said, University of Colorado at Boulder, Ohio State, Rutgers, Pennslyvania State University at University Park could also be a good fit. Any of the Big 10 schools will basically give you that same “college town” mixed with a large college feel.

Those schools (and most others) will require you to bump your SAT at least up to 1800+. In that range, a lot of doors open. To be honest, stress now, study hard, take the test, and if you don’t improve on the second try, don’t retake. Two tries is basically all you can do in terms of raising your score. A score in the 1700’s won’t kill your chances either.

Chance me back, please!

Thank you! And yes, I know my SAT holds me back a ton! I am retaking it in the fall, that and the ACT.
My school, sadly, only offers few AP classes. Four or five, I believe. My school is a big IB school.
I’m trying to take as much AP as I can. I’m taking my 3rd AP class next year, which is AP Literature.

I’ll definitely try to get my score in the 1800+ range. Thanks!

…uh I guess I’ll just bump, lol

Buump, can someone also chance me for DePaul University and/or Purdue University?

Thanks in advance!
