Hi everyone. I applied to Penn already, but I'm posting a chance thread because I want to know if I should be surprised or not if I get rejected.

I applied RD, Bioengineering major

I'm 17 years old, a Male, a HS Senior, Middle Eastern (Egyptian), and I speak fluent Arabic and English.

Reading:730
Writing:770
Total:2250

SAT Subject Tests-
Math Level 2: 760
Physics: 750
Biology M: 750

AP's-
Biology: 5
Physics B: 5
Physics C Mechanics: 4
US History: 3 (but I guess I don't have to report it)
Currently in AP Statistics, AP Chem, and AP Calculus BC

EC's-
I make websites committed to exploring ancient egyptian wisdom
I have over 250 hours of volunteering, and counting, at a local medical center

School Newspaper (head of technology/business section)
NSHSS Member (throwing that out there)
I have engineering ideas (patents)
I organize fundraisers at my local mosque, we raised over $50,000 last summer
My school literally has no sports teams (except basketball), but I'm a runner, a swimmer, and I do hiking.

Awards-
National Merit Commended (PSAT of 203)
AP Scholar with Honor Award
Honor Roll (10th, 11th, and 12th)
A few Science Olympiad awards here and there

GPA/ Class Rank-
Ok, so this is where I take a HUGE blow:
9th GPA: 3.15
10th GPA: 3.95
11th GPA: 3.82
Total High School GPA: 3.65 (Weighted, but my school doesn't hardly does any weighting at all)

My School doesn't rank in any way.

Can expect great Rec Letters, I wrote very good essays, and should expect a good mid year report.

So this is the problem, everything seems fine, but my GPA is low, all because of 9th Grade. Do you think that Penn may notice that my performance improved drastically after 9th Grade? I know that the thing Penn cares about most is GPA, and unfortunately its the only area where I'm seriously lacking. But I must stress, although my 3.65 is weighted, my school hardly does any weighting. Any idea of what my chances are (reach, high reach, no chance?). Thanks in advance.

I'll do my best to chance back!
