What is the likelihood I get into Pitzer College? I am applying as a transfer student (for fall of my sophomore year) from a small liberal arts college that is decently competitive (63% acceptance) and pretty well respected. I have a GPA of 3.778 (1 A and 3 A-'s) . I plan to keep up all A’s this semester. I had a high school GPA of 3.65. I had some rough grades my freshman year (half A’s and Half B’s with one C+) but continued getting better and finished my junior and senior year with all A’s. Have a good amount of extracuricular activities I do (running, singing, clubs). What would my chances of getting in be?
Pitzer is a highly selective college so I would say that your chances are pretty low. However, if you have an excellent essay and excellent letters from your professors then you never know.
A high school G.P.A. of 3.65 is below what Pitzer College generally is interested in looking at. Transferring from your current college with an acceptance rate of 63 % is not viewed as competitive in the admissions world. I would suggest you apply and definitely have an in-person interview at Pitzer with one of the Admissions people…let them meet you and see how you present yourself as well as sit down and write some great essays for your application. Good luck!
