Chance me for Princeton EA? <3

Hi Y'all! First post!

I sent in my Princeton EA app four days ago. Just wondering what you guys think... this hopefully will ease some of my crazy nerves! (I'm aware that the result will likely be the opposite.) I know you guys will be honest; be brutal. I appreciate any and all responses!

Miscellaneous:

Summers I spent traveling in Asia, attending various music camps, reading, relaxing. This past summer I attended a former governor's school, which concluded with the presentation of a marketing project by my team to the heads of a national candy company. I was project leader. 76 kids from 20 countries attended the program. An eye-opening cultural experience, especially for someone who comes from a culturally homogeneous community (except for the Asian girl, haha)

Fluent in English and Chinese, less fluent in French

It's difficult to judge my own writing. I'm considered a very good writer, but I don't know if it's enough. Only my sister saw my essays, and she said they were pretty good. I don't know that they would blow anyone away though. I hope my genuine love of learning and lust for life comes through. Generic, I suppose, but very honest.

I love, FREAKING LOVE Princeton. The social vibe, the quaint campus, the undergraduate research opportunities, that my favorite freaking novelist is a professor there-- I am head over heels.

Weaknesses: no "hook" (whatever that is), no legacy, generic ECs (qualifier: I am very very passionate about them, I hope that shows through my essays), no arts supplement. Since music is such a huge element of my app, I should have sent one. I got lazy. :(

I can only cross my fingers and desperatelyyyy hope for the best. I need a miracle.

In the meantime: Duke, UPenn, Georgetown, UChicago, Columbia. Maybzzz Hahhvahhd?

These schools are reaches for anyone, including Princeton, even with EA. At best they are low reaches.

What are your safeties?

Oh, I definitely know that… not in any way banking on Princeton or any Ivies. I’ve already applied to my state school and I’m getting ready to send out the honors college apps for it soon.

Bumpppppppppp

Looking at your stats, I think you’ll definitely get into at least one of the ivies.
It your essays were extremely passionate, and honest then you have a good chance. Of all the schools listed, you’re most likely getting into one. You’re not applying to Yale? Why?

Crapshot for EA Princeton. You should be accepted by 1 of the top 10 schools (definately 1 of the top 20), but, as you said, you really have nothing spectacular. It’ll all depend on your rec letters and essays. Georgetown is sort of a safety, but all others you listed are reaches; unlikely for Harvard. If I were you, I would have ED’ed an ivy school-you would be fairly likely to get into any school that offers ED if you applied it. Wish you the best luck!

How you can say Georgetown is somehow a safety when, like HYPS, it is a reach for anyone?

@Catria…lol take a look at admission rate and admitted students’ profiles; Georgetown is certainly easier than HYPS; I said it’s “sort of a safety” because it’s slightly harder than safety but not exactly a reach.
