At first when I saw your times I was like that’s not competitive… But then I realized you were a girl haha. By the way, where did you find the cutoff you are talking about, I run 15:43 (I am a guy) would this be under the male cut off?

Great EC’s and test scores. You have a really great chance as a recruited athlete.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I really appreciate it
@yaycollege2 Wow, your times are way under the male cutoff! Here’s the link: [College Cross Country Scholarships. Cross Country Recruiting.](College Cross Country Scholarships. Cross Country Recruiting.)
Good luck!

The combination of your SAT score, the prestige of your school, and your phenomenal ECs will surely make you a very competitive candidate. If you apply EA, then I do believe you have a very strong chance. You seem to be very passionate about your interests, and if you are able to convey this passion in your essays, then you really should have this in the bag. However, it’s important to keep in mind that with top schools, it really is a complete crapshoot with admissions. While I do believe you definitely have a good chance with Princeton, you should of course still apply to other less competitive schools for safety. But yeah, I would be surprised if you don’t get in. Good luck!!!

Really, the cut off is above 20 minutes? I’m a male and not a competitive runner, but I run in local races (my 5k is ~19 minutes) and a handful of girls blow me away every time. Solid chance for Princeton though. I hope it works out.

PrincetonPreppy,
I am sure you will put other applicants to shame. Great GPA, school, extracurricular activities, SATs, exam scores, and leadership skills! You are more than qualified. Apply ED, and you will most defintely be a student at Princeton University. Best of luck, and aim for the stars!http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1366605-boston-college-transfer.html
If you could chance me back, I would appreciate it.

@BallHead I did! Thanks and good luck!!!

uh…wow…I was going to apply to Princeton SCEA…and I still want to, but you make me feel so inferior haha you’re amazing and if you don’t get in, Princeton doesn’t deserve you anyway. Good luck!
Chance me back?

Ditto to what the person above me said. I honestly see no reason as to why they wouldn’t accept you. Perfect scores, near perfect GPA (especially for your school, top 4! Wow!), EC’s off the charts, focus on medicine and running, etc. You’re like the dream candidate for any school in the nation. If you said that I’m “qualified” you are certainly overqualified. Thanks again for the chance, and congrats on your amazing high school career.

Thanks so much, everyone, for being confident in me! @derivative22, I will chance you ASAP! Thanks again, guys :)

Anyone got any more opinions? :)

You’re definitely a competitive applicant for Princeton. Have you been in contact with the cross country coach? Being a recruit is a huge factor in your application. And what’s your class rank?

Either way, I think you are a great applicant. I don’t tell people whether I think they’ll be admitted because so much more goes into an application and you have to be a right fit for them, but your application looks great. Hope to see you on campus in a few years!

@ptontiger16
Thanks for your opinion! Yeah, I have been in contact with the coach, so I am hoping to get recruited.
Our school doesn’t rank (because it’s a private school) but I’m definitely up there in the class.
Hope to see YOU on campus! Thanks again :)

Hey PrincetonPreppy,

I don’t mean to be a debby downer, but I just want you to keep in mind that nothing is absolute. You are a very qualified applicant - this is true - but I don’t know why people are telling you you are virtually a shoe-in. I hope that you get in because you seem to really view Princeton as your dream school. I’m in the same boat as you; I have an interest in pursuing medicine and would love to go to Princeton. Just remain grounded and (I’m not saying you won’t get accepted) but if worst comes to worst and you don’t get accepted don’t lose faith in your potential because it’s very evident that potential is there to succeed elsewhere.

You’re in the 4th best private school in the nation and it doesn’t offer honors/AP classes? I’m guessing everyone is an honor student there?

@russimons Thanks for your opinion! Oh, I know I’m not a shoo-in (nobody really is for Princeton of course). One year they want a well-rounded student with high scores, a 4.0, a mean squash serve, a passion for community service, and a culinary club. And the next year they want a uber-committed applicant focused on one thing. Do I hope I’ll get in? Of course. Do I know that I might very well not? Of course! You make a good point: nothing is certain (or, given the approximately 1-in-5 EA rate, nothing is even likely).

@FullMetalx We have “Advanced” Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, which are basically AP except the teacher doesn’t have to stick to the AP curriculum 100% (so they can teach some extra things). All of our classes are extremely difficult; although they’re not called “honors,” they’re at least the level of an honors class in a public high school, usually even an AP class.
Luckily, Princeton knows that our classes, although they might not be called “honors,” are extremely rigorous. Thank goodness! :)

Oops, it double-posted. Weird :D

I wouldn’t reject you! :)
