Thank you in advance for your replies! :D

less than 18%.

Hi Emetris, You have decent chance I think.

PS: you may want to go back and edit your post to remove some of the details for privacy concerns. You would not want the valedictorian of your school to know your grades/scores or where you are applying. I am just saying…:)

Why, what could happen? Sabotage?

I do realize my chances are slim (at max 18%), but what strengths and weaknesses do you see in my stats?

Being a Kumon Reading/Math Graduate myself, I am pretty sure individual Kumon awards don’t carry much weightage.

Hi I’m an international student keen on applying to JHU. May I ask why the chance is only 18%? I think Emetris’ records seem rather good. Sorry, I don’t really know the US admissions. Hope you can enlighten me on why you think the chance is so low.

JHU holds one of the largest disparities in numbers between its Early Decision and Regular Decision acceptance rates, so your chances of making it into JHU as a RD applicant are significantly lower than if you apply ED. According to admissions statistics from previous years, JHU accepts 18% of its RD applicants.

Oh no… thanks for the reply, Emetris. All the best for your application!

^same concern as Chemplease :frowning: Your stats are so good!

There goes my burning hope for JHU. Good luck to you, though, Emetris :)

not true! thanks haha. just took the SAT Chemistry and Spanish tests a week ago. Hoping I did well!

Emetris. You look like a good candidate, but SOOOOO many of your awards are useless.

I appreciate all your considerate replies! Scores from December came out today! I did not get up to par with what I had expected for both, but here are the final list of SAT Subject Test scores I have already submitted to JHU:

740: Math II
740: Chemistry
720: Spanish

You have a wall of text but I’m sorry to say that they are a lot of applicants a lot like you. You need a HOOK. Something that the admins will take interests.

Oh and to clarify: it is all in your essay now. There is a point where having a WALL of EC does nothing much if you can’t write well.

^I completely agree with the essay comment. Right now all your awards and ECs mean pretty little, but if you can show how they are important to you through your leadership in them and your essays than that makes them worth much more!

Also you probably don’t want to send in awards from before high school, just FYI they really don’t look at those when evaluating your app and it will probably just be annoying to them:)

Thank you for your input! I did spend much time on JHU’s short answers, so I can only wish for the best!
