AIME, 2100+, Hispanic, solid GPA.
I would be surprised if you didn’t get in. I hope you come here when we do. We need stronger math students.

But it looks from your previous posts that you’ll be going to Vandy

Don’t know why they would go there, but anyway… lol. Actually, aside from being facetious. Wouldn’t Emory (or Maybe like Penn, ND, Virginia, somewhere like that) make more sense if they are considering business? I know Vandy ranks slightly higher (and then only because of admissions) than us, ND, and Virginia, but I don’t think any undergrad. programs in peabody (which may provide something similar to a business type of degree) will be comparable to the scene of the b-schools at these institutions (in addition, they are just as “not great” in the other two: math and econ. as say Emory. I imagine econ. to be better at Penn and Virginia. Don’t know about ND). In addition, if the OP likes the Vandy atmosphere and is interested in business, I would really look at Virginia. It’s awesome (as in probably better than/the same as basically all of us between 15-20)!

I would imagine ND places well into Chicago. Their placement into NYC is probably similar to Emory. Maybe stronger since they have a more established alumni base.

Penn, of course, places everywhere. Penn has a good Econ program. I don’t know about the other schools.

IDK much about VA but I’m sure they’re good as well.

Yea, UVA is good. Vandy is fine (as much as I would never go there, I can’t fault others for wanting to).

I just know that if I wanted the business scene or whatever and liked the type of atmosphere at Vandy, I would personally choose Notre Dame or Virginia. If it’s mainly a perception of prestige (you know, needs to be “top 20”), then I would try for Penn (this is exclusively for prestige. Penn is more like Emory than Vandy, so I can’t see someone who falls in love with Vandy’s atmosphere being to gungho over Penn’s) or go exclusively with Notre Dame because you kind of get a Vandy"ish" atmosphere because of the sports legacy and then you get a strong business program. I would play the URM card into the top business and econ. programs for sure (okay, except Chicago and Harvard. Those are just plain brutal. I would hesitate before trying their econ. programs unless I’m insane at math. I would definitely hesitate if I planned to land a top firm or get an MBA in the future as the GPA really matters. Grad school…then I would go for it, totally worth it).
