Great essay
Amazing recommendations from teacher/counselor/boss

I know my grades aren't the best, but my extracurriculars are pretty good and the internship should really help me since Ross is looking for practical experience in the field you are looking to go into. I have great essays and great recommendations. It is my first choice for U of M. I know my grades arent good but I think my essays and extracurriculars will help me greatly.

Don’t worry about Ross dude, you need to worry about getting into Michigan in the first place. Those grades will not get you in, I’m sorry. Your ECs are solid but an internship is really the only thing you have that is not plain. Your ACT ranks below the 50th percentile and your GPA would be in the bottom 5 percent of admitted students. You have to get a 4.0 this semester to have a chance and you would have to be IS as well. OOS, you have no shot period. Sorry for the negativeness but I’m just trying to be honest.

I know. The grades arent the best. I’m not expecting to get into preffered admit. I know a kid that got a 36 and didn’t get in. Thanks for your reply. Michigan also has a really good econ program that is lsa so im good with that too. Thanks for your answer from a current student’s perspective.

Oh and im also applying to stern. Better chances there?

Look, sorry but you’re aiming too high. Your stats makes getting into Texas difficult, let alone Michigan and NYU. My advice to you is to work as hard as you possibly can this year and get a 4.0 or at least a 3.95+. Then for whatever college you actually go to, get a 4.0 there as well and then apply as a sophomore transfer to Michigan, LSA. You also should then submit the separate Ross app as well. Also make sure you have business related ECs and plenty of them. Ross took a total of 4 external transfers in 2010 so you have your work cut out for you. You’ll probably make it into LSA then but if you’re really this interested in Ross you may have to stay 5 years in college.

Hey, thanks for the honest answers. Ross and Stern are the two (extreme) reach schools for me and I know that. I am also applying to Loyola’s (lock) and MSU (in for undergrad).

I really like U of M and the economics major is highly ranked as well. I wouldn’t mind majoring in that. Thanks for your honest answers, I’m not looking for anyone to sugar coat anything and I know Ross is ridiculous to get into. Same with Stern even though i’m not very serious about NYU (too far).

Thanks for bringing me back to reality.
