Eligibility Index is a 4420 if my GPA is 4.00. I don't know my current total GPA, but I know it went up a little because of my junior year.

Junior year: Straight As with 2 AP and 2 Honor academic classes + Art Class + Student Council Leadership Class b**

I live 40 about mins away from SDSU but not within the "local area" so I don't know if I'm still at a locational advantage. Also want to dorm 1st year.

It's my college of choice, but should I consider myself a shoe in?

My original thread had unnecessary info and some errors. Wish I could edit my original thread but I can't so I created a new one.

Trying to see if I should call this a safety school or not. Any other opinions?

Another bump! Another opinion?

Not sure if I’m calculating my csu GPA correctly. Apparently I have a 4.4 according to csumentor. I’m just afraid my app will be denied because I’m not in their service area.
I heard that 50% of accepted freshmen are locals. I don’t know if my high eligibility index would compensate :/

Bump back to first page

Bump to first again

you should be fine.

You’ll be fine with this school, your critical reading is way above average ! Don’t worry abut location, 50% are local, but 50% are not, so with your GPA and SAT + SATII (which I don’t think is required) you will be completely fine. Why don’t you aim also to something richer? You have a very high GPA :)

Right now my reach schools are UCSD and UCLA(parents want me to apply). The only things bringing me down for these two schools are my low SATs and extreme lack of ECs. I’m gonna give the SAT another shot and actually study I could probably get a 1900/2000 if I study like crazy. Fingers crossed I’m one of the 1,500 non-locals that get in :P

Your stats look great! You will get in, don’t worry.

Thanks! I guess I’m just paranoid haha.

Thanks for chancing me before. And you are very paranoid! ahaha San diego state offers an excellent curriculum and you should consider yourself a shoe in. It’s not like they purely reject applicants based on their location. And I really feel like you could get into a school like UCSD. I know a kid from NY that got in there with a much lower GPA and slightly lower SAT. Good luck man!

Yeah I really am haha. Well, thanks everyone for chancing me! I’m gonna check out other CSU’s I can call safety schools. Only have 4 colleges I’m applying to and hopefully I can add to that list. Thanks again!

your definitively in that school. The only thing I would suggest is retaking your SAT’s if you want to try for a harder school. Your grades are superb however what are your EC’s? Either don’t worry to much about it~

Also thanks for chancing me!~
