It’s a tough call, standardized tests are pretty weak along with extra curriculars. I suggest you found a club, Founder and President looks awesome on a transcript (I’ve done it twice). Also definitely retake your standardized tests. Maybe focus on getting your grade up for one and take a prep course and just send that.

If you want to get into Berkeley you need higher standardized test scores.

Thanks! Berkeley is just a stretch along with Notre Dame… just wanted to see what people thought. I have been in SVDP and NHS for a while and later this year I am going to apply for leadership positions.

Your test scores and ECS are going to hold you back. I’m not sure if you’re a senior, but if not, try to take the tests again. As previous posters have mentioned, adding some bulk to your ECs is also a good idea. Volunteer at a local organization over the summer in an area that interests you, found a club, join an academic team, etc. Don’t simply join a ton of clubs for the sake of college applications – colleges can see right through this strategy, especially if you’re already in your second half of your high school career.

As for chances:
Berkeley: High reach
Notre Dame: High reach
Whitman: Low reach
UW: Match
Santa Clara: Low match

Actually, I think your ECs sound fine, you’ve gotten awards, shown dedication and done service. Have you taken any AP classes? Those look good on your transcripts. Pick one of the tests, do concentrated study and retake. Higher test scores will open doors.
