Writer for my school newspaper 4 years, E-I-C for 2. My school newspaper used to be instantly discarded by the students at my school because it was poorly put together and utterly boring. When I became E-I-C, I made many changes. First of all, the articles now have a global feel to them (meaning they are not just about the school). I also put the newspaper online (it was not before I became E-I-C). The layout of the paper has also become much more professional. When I interviewed with volleges, I showed them a newspaper before I became E-I-C and after, and they were blown away.

Okay, if I remember more, I'll post them. I plan on majoring in journalism and concentrating in broadcast. My goal is to be a sportscaster after college.

You apply to the college of Arts and Sciences, not to any major, program, or school. I say you have a shot, but UNC is extremely competitive for OSS students, and your SATs, while very good, are a bit low for a non-NC resident. The thing is, for anyone applying OSS, it is a shot in the dark.

I would like to say I think you’ll get in with such impressive stats in extracurriculars as well as academics. I wouldn’t focus so much on your SAT. Granted, the 600 in Math might hurt you a tiny bit, but I got in with a 680 on critical reading and a 660 on math, and a 740 on writing. SATs aren’t everything, they really do look at all of you. I also applied to the journalism and mass communication school and got in. But I’m also well rounded overall, so i wish you best of luck, hope you get int :)

ps. i want to do broadcast journalism too! hope to see you in class next year!

yup, me too!!!
