Um, I think Dartmouth might be out of your league due to your low SAT scores . Carnegie Mellon and Virginia also seems like a reach, you should apply early decision. I think you have a good chance of getting into the rest though.

Florida- match
Virginia- reach
North Carolina - match/…safety?
Georgia Tech- high match
Dartmouth- very high reach
Carnegie Mellon- high reach

For those reaches, your unweighted GPA is very low, as is your SAT. As for the GPA, what is your rank? In some schools that would be at the very top of the class, in others it wouldn’t.

I think you have a shot at most of those. The SATs are a little low, but if you can bring up your math especially, you will improve your chances greatly. You could definitely be fine at Fl, NC, and GA Tech…CMU and VA will be more high matches, but the legacy might help you ot at VA. If you apply early decision there, they will take that more into account.

My rank is 23/625 so top 4%. Sorry meant to include

Oh okay then the rank chances things. CM is just a mid reach in that case, and Georgia tech is a pure match. And Dartmouth is a little below high reach. You’ll still want to improve those SATs though.

Ok thank you, will work on it!

Dartmouth - high reach
Carnegie Mellon - reach
Virginia - low reach / high match
Florida- match
North Carolina - match
Georgia Tech- high match

what’s hurting you is your SAT score. I also don’t see any special EC’s.

CHANCE ME BACK
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1165439-please-chance-me-also-can-i-actually-get-into-any-these-aiming-too-high.html</a></p>

i’d definitely apply. i know cases of people with SAT scores around yours who got into ivies

Thank you. I show more of a passion for lacrosse than what came across. Am working on becoming a referee for rec and youth league, and am trying to put together a team for the fall informal pick-up league. Neither amount to much more than a good essay though.
Are there any other schools that someone like me should consider? What are some ways that I can improve SAT?

Studying/courses definitely help, as do retakes in general. Keep in mind for the writing section that the essay is only (I believe) 30% of the score.

You may also consider schools that put less emphasis/do not require standardized test scores/have other standardized test policies for admission.

Some notable ones:
Bard
Bates
Wake Forest
Bowdoin
Colby
Hamilton
Middlebury
NYU
Pitzer
Smith

You seem solid except the SATs which were discussed above. Get that blue book and work at it! I did that sophomore year and was ok with my score. Do em over and over again. Think you have a really good shot everywhere if you retake, except maybe Carnegie and Dartmouth. But an ivy is tough for anyone.

Hi! I honestly can only help you with Florida, because I’m from there. And a good number of the senior class before mine went to UF, with credentials not as good as yours. You definitely have a great chance! Ivy League might be a bit difficult though, from what I’ve seen. I hope I at least helped a little. Try not to worry too much :)

Chance mine?

Don’t stress out about the SAT’s soo much - REally show who your are in your EC’s and that’ll be good. Try to bring your SAT’s up by 80 point tho and you’ll be good

Florida - Match
Virginia ( legacy) - Match/Low reach
North Carolina EA - Match
Georgia Tech - high match
Dartmouth - high reach
Carnegie Mellon - reach

good luck!! you’ll be fine!!!

Chance me back? Appreciate it :]

Florida- Match…maybe safety
Virginia ( legacy)-Low Reach
North Carolina EA-Match
Georgia Tech-Match
Dartmouth-Reach
Carnegie Mellon-small to medium reach

You look like a great candidate for most if not all of these schools, just apply im sure you will make a great impression, if you are terribly worried raise those scores slightly

Florida- Match
Virigina- Match
NC- Match/Low Reach
GA Tech- High Match
Dartmouth- High Reach
CMU- Mid Reach

[Chance me please :)](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1167774-chance-top-schools-will-chance-back.html)

I don’t see much focus from your ECs, but you most certainly are involved. Improve your SAT a lot. To get a much more viable chance, aim for the magic 2300. Dartmouth is a reach, as all Ivies are for everyone. Carnegie might be a slight reach, but others seem matches/slight slight reaches.

Florida, uva, and georgia tech are matches. I’ll say the rest are reaches because you can still improve your SAT scores and because your ECs are a bit too spread out. But hey, a reach does not mean no.

sorry I can’t write more but I’m on my phone now haha. thanks for the chance!

I think you’re pretty well-rounded. Nothing “stood out” to me, so choose something you’re passionate about and capitalize on it! GPA and HPA are a tad low. I think your SAT scores are decent; a 2020 actually is the 25th percentile scores for Dartmouth’s 2010 acceptances. (See more about this at: [Dartmouth College Profile - SAT Scores and Admissions Data for Dartmouth College](Dartmouth College: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores)) Although, it doesn’t hurt to re-take it and score higher! What do you want to major/minor in?

Probably major in biology, biochem or something in the sciences because I want to go premed. I’ll most likely minor in history. Thank you all for the chances!
